The Physics of Foraging

My new book, in co-authorship with Marcos da Luz, Ernesto Raposo and Gene Stanley, has just been published by Cambridge University Press.

It is about randomness in animal movement, seen from the perspective of statistical physics and stochasticity. A main topic of the book is about the scope of the Lévy flight foraging hypothesis.

The book discusses a number of related topics, such as the diffusion of pollen from genetically modified (GM) crops, operations research (e.g., hunting for submarines), the arrival of human settlers  in Madagascar and the spread of disease in epidemics and pandemics.

Here is the book on Amazon.
